My cousin Franklin Meyers who farms up in central Kansas, has a daughter, Sandra, who lives in Spain. I should really say she works in Spain, which is teaching at a University there and is also in politics. Anyway, we don’t get to see Sandra or her kids (she has 3 daughters) very often, so we have to depend on pictures.
These are the latest pictures of the twins.

The Taylor families 15th anniversary reunion was held this year at Arrowhead State Lake here in Oklahoma. These are some of the pictures that were taken at this years reunion. This years reunion did not have a lot of attendees of previous years, maybe because of the economy. But more likely it was because of babies being born and illnesses. It is our hope that everyone will be able to attend next June. I hope it is not scheduled for next July as I have a class reunion July 2, 3 and 4, 2010.
Ryan Albright also had been deployeed to Iraq. Aunt Louise passed away earlier this year. Aunt Wilma had medical problems. Kyle was busy moving to a new place in Stillwater and starting new employeement. Tom and family were having a baby.
It was a very hot reunion this year, with temperatures in the high 90′s and very little winds. Plus the flies were bad. Even the camp site had a few problems. The refrigerator had just broken down and the walk-in refrig was not putting out much cool air. The Corp Ranger said the replacements had not yet been received.
We really don’t have the space for all the pictures that have been provided from various people that did attend the reunion, but we do have a DVD covering the reunion. We have about 400 pictures of which 300 plus are on the DVD. This is available to you if you would like a copy. Just send a request to:

On Monday April 27th I went into St. John’s hospital for total left hip replacement. This was the bad hip from the 1930′s when I was on crutches for about 3 years.
I remember nothing about the first two days, and of course I have no pictures of this time or anything for the next month and a half. On the third day I remember attending a meeting with others at the hospital going over the do not do’s. A very negative meeting.
After a few days a trainer person started coming to the house to assist me with the exercising that is a must for people under-going a hip replacement. There were really a number of persons over the first month that came to the house until I graduated to the rehab center at St. John’s hospital here in Tulsa.
After 6 weeks I was ok’d to drive a car and this helped. I could go somewhere without asking for help. Mobility was restricted by the “don’t do that or you might knock the new hip out of joint” statement.
The hospital exercises were tough depending on your assigned “person”. Some of these “assigned” people were good and some were studying to be vampires.
Below is one of the home analysts. She’s is in my chair in the living room. Notice the extra cushion she is setting on. The cushion is to help you get up from the setting position by raising the level of the chairs setting surface. You should see the toilet seat.

Below are some of the pictures “someone” took at the Hospital. I really don’t remember anything that happened the first two days after surgery, so I really can’t say a lot about the pictures. I remember being wheeled down to surgery and having to wait because someone hadn’t showed up yet. That was Monday just after noon. The next thing I remember was a meeting with other knee and hip replacement patients, telling us what were the does and dont’s. I think the pain medicine did me in.

Grandma Loveless was a McFadden. Cleo McFadden Olsen was a very large part of all the activities that covered the Loveless families activities in the Marion area. I can’t remember a time from the 1930′s though this year when Cleo was not around. She stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Loveless when she was in high school as she lived on the farm north of Marion. Her place was a meeting place for us over the many years since the passing of Grandpa, Grandma, Helen, Mildred, Howard, Dorothy and Dad. She will certainly be missed.
Below are the funeral hand-outs as well as her obituary. More pictures will added as I find them.

The tree in back of Karen’s place was really quite old and unfortunately was dead. About all that could be done was to have the tree removed. It was completely over the house and if it fell, it would certainly take down the house. Now this is an old tree. My guess is that it is/was somewhere about 70 to 80 years old.

No updates since April 23rd 2009! Well, I’ve had a lot go under the bridge since that date.
I had my left hip replaced on April 27, 2009. Now that isn’t to bad, is it? It was something I really don’t think I want to go thru again even though the right hip is really bothering me greatly and is probably creating as much pain as the left hip did. That’s where I’ve been. A month to 6 weeks of very useful going on basically setting in a raised chair and exercising. No driving for the first 6 weeks.
Home exercise for a few weeks and then to the hospital for another month and a half by over achievers in the exercising area. Finally, after 4 months I’ve been able to put on socks without the use of special equipment. The raised toilet seat has been discarded. After 5 months I can actually clean between my toes and clip my toes nails.
Then when I was getting back to the computer full time the computer, it stopped processing. I went though 3 weeks of having the computer in the shop, getting fixed, having it back, just to have it crap out again. Back to the shop. Finally they found that the mother board was bad and the cost to replace it was to expensive, so I had to get a new computer.
This getting a new computer and getting my data saved and into the new computer took a month. Why a month? I had a new system known as Vista. It was a dog and I was really unable to get a lot accomplished. Even Best Buy had problems. They couldn’t get the files on the old computer moved to the new drive. So, I spent a couple of weeks copying data to CD’s.
But then Kyle saved me. He got back from Stillwater. He took a little time getting the data moved (6 1/2 hours it took him). Then getting my free upgrade to Windows7 was “accomplished” by Best Buy. Best Buy could “not” get the system to work after the update. Why? Problems with Vista. My repair shop finally got it repaired. It is all is up and running now.
I’ve learned a lot these last 6 months. 1) Don’t get your hip replaced; 2) Don’t have (let) the Geek Squard work on your computer and 3) Don’t use anything that has been produced by Microsoft.
Anyway, over the next few weeks I will have the blog up to date.
