The Safari east of Broken Arrow OK, is a privately owned zoo. The family went to visit this place during Spring break. Now Kyle Johnson, Karen’s son, is an “helper-volunteer” at the sanctuary, so it was natural spot to visit. Those attending were Bud and Marie, Marie’s sister Evelyn, Karen and Kyle, Laura and Dustin, and three of Matt’s and Kim’s kids Kassidy, Matthew and Alexis.

The pictuers below give you the first glance of the arrival of Spring 2008 here in Okieland. Now the weather has been a little cooler than normal so a few things are not as far along as they have been in the past. The biggest thing is the grass, namely Bermuda (native Bermuda and Tiff).

Kassidy, Matt’s son, received a third place award in a art contest for the Space Museum in Tulsa county. Quite an award for the Skiatook sophomore, his parents and his grand-parents.

The day starts out cold and breezy (its a lot worse than that) but it is a day back with a lot of people I really spent more time with than I spent with my family. These were the people form the late 1950′s through the 1980′s. This morning was the monthly breakfast of the SCS-Sabre retirement group from American Airline Data Processing Group. 35 “people” or more were in attendance. I forgot to take my camera again as I was running late. Maybe next month.
Its nice to see these “people” again but they are really looking old. Maybe they need to get more sleep.

After all the talk by the “Weather Guys” we had wind, a little freezing drizzle and 1.5 inches of rain over the last two days. The sun has just come out and the temperature is up to 50 degrees. No flooding or ice around. From what Jim and Jane have has said Topeka has had ice, snow and rain.
